Was it right for Gautam Gambir to ask the crowd to shut up after LSG win over RCB ?
Photo Times of IndiaAs IPL games become more intense and competitive, the pressure to win is being felt by every team. Last night's match at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) was yet another exciting game. RCB set a mammoth target of 212 runs when they batted first, and despite having taken five wickets within 12 overs, everyone expected RCB to win since it was their home ground. But Nicholas Pooran's 62 runs off 19 deliveries helped LSG chase down the seemingly impossible target and secure a remarkable victory.
Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi remained composed under pressure and secured the single needed for victory as both teams fought hard until the last ball, with LSG needing five runs to win off the last over. The players and head coaches Gautam Gambhir, Jonty Rhodes, and Praveen Tambe celebrated the victory.
Gautam Gambhir, who was named the coach of the new IPL team Lucknow Super Giants in December 2021, seemed upset with the crowd's support for RCB and immediately put a finger to his mouth in anger as he stepped out of the LSG pavilion after the team's win. This gesture showed his team's dominance over RCB's home ground, and it was in line with Gambhir's known aggressive on-field persona. It seems that Gautam is still the same 'Dilliwaala' everyone is used to seeing.
