On Friday (April 7), the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow will host the 10th match of the Indian Premier League 2023, where Lucknow Super Giants will face Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Super Giants have played two games, winning one and losing one, currently sitting in fifth place on the points table. In their first match, they beat Delhi Capitals by 50 wickets, thanks to Mark Wood's impressive performance, who was named Player of the Match. However, they lost their second game against Chennai Super Kings by 12 runs, despite a strong start in the powerplay.
Sunrisers Hyderabad played their first game against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday (April 2) and lost by 72 runs. They won the toss and elected to bowl, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar leading the team in the absence of Aiden Markram. Although they managed to restrict the Royals to 203 runs, they struggled in their chase, losing two wickets in the very first over and eventually Lucknow fishing with a total of 131 runs.
